“Thai Pongal”, the harvest festival of Tamilnadu was celebrated on 11th January on the theme ‘Let us together redeem the farmers’. The untiring labour and the difficulties faced by the farmers were portrayed by the students. The children were left with a message “Buy Local Products” and “Do not waste Food”. The display of dances, skit and songs with enactment of the rituals of the four-day celebration was a feast to the eyes. The assembly concluded with a tribute paid to the Indian farmers.
